3rd Annual Harbour Clean-Up
Each year, Pacific Undersea Gardens and a team of volunteers get together to clean-up the sea floor of Victoria’s Inner Harbour. This year’s event was a resounding succes, made possible by dozens of volunteers, including local divers, the
Pacific Navy Fleet Diving Unit and Coast Guard Auxiliary Unit 35.
During the dive, hundreds of pounds of garbage were removed from the harbour, including a suitcase, pants, several bikes, several tires, a boat battery, cell phones, shoes and even a toilet.
The dive was followed by a pancake breakfast cooked up by the Pacific Undersea Gardens staff, and a prize giveaway with prizes donated by local businesses. A grand prize was given to the “most obscure item found”.
The whole operation took months to plan but was completed in about two hours.
Thanks to everyone who took part – we’ll see you next year!
